Text originally composed in french by Baron_FEL:

- What do you think of the Largo-Nerio relationship as told by Largo in the series ?

- How do you interpret Nerio's choices, like leaving his son far from him, fighting the Commission... ?

- Can we say that Nerio has fulfiled his education mission ?

- Does wealth compensates for an unhappy childhood ?...

I think that it is unfortunate that Nerio had to make the choices that he did (because of the Commission, etc.) - however, even in spite of those, I do not think that he was a good father to Largo. Wealth does not buy happiness... and I think that Largo would have been just as happy without inheriting Group W.

I still think that there could have been some better way for Nerio to let Largo know that he was Largo's father - even if it was to wait until Largo was a bit older, and then to tell, and then to explain the seriousness of it; to keep it a secret.

What do you think Fio? icon_smile.gif
And everyone else? icon_smile.gif

Well, i agree. Wealth does not buy happiness but sometimes it helps... Nerio used it the wrong way. He could have used his cash to hire bodyguards like they do with the royalty and have Largo with him.

That is an interesting thought Fio... I hadn't considered that option for Nerio. I do wonder, however, if that might not have been a better life for Largo having always to be guarded like that. I often look at royals, and other celebrities and wonder how they can stand being insulated from the world that way.

I think perhaps if Largo had had that kind of growing up, then he wouldn't have a good head on his shoulders and a proper grasp of reality - which would make it difficult for him to run Group W as good as he has...

I think that Nerio could have learned a lot from Largo on how to run Group W...

Maybe they get used to living like that. There are always disguises they could use to sneak out in the world.

For Largo, maybe he could have copied Nerio's behavior, followed his father's steps or totally reject his values and ran away... Life is full of possibilities that maybe we might have fun developping them into fan fictions.

Now, what would have happened if Nerio wouldn't have died and just decided to fetch his son ?

That is a good question Fio...

I remember that in Bloodlines Largo became very pushy when Nerio (even when it wasn't *really* Nerio) tried to run things against Largo's wishes. But, if Nerio (the real one) hadn't died, and had brought Largo back to run things, I still think there would have been some friction there. After all, Largo's a "woolly-headed idealist" whereas Nerio was very definitely a pragmatist. Do you think that Nerio would have come round to Largo's ideas, or that Largo would have tempered his own to fall in line with his father's?

I bet a fan-fic about them could be quite fun! icon_lol.gif

(fan fic anytime you want...if would be fun to imagine Nerio doing shady things and Largo covering up for him or giving him icon_twisted.gif and then we could bring back the false Nerio... oh la la...)

It's a good question. Largo seemed to have started to like his job and . would he have let go of it ? i don't know. Maybe they both either would have made compromises if they wanted their relationship to work or split altogether. The questions is, how much did they want their relationship to work? Largo seemed to like his father in the beginning...

I would think (Well, I hope) that there would have been some compromises by both Largo and Nerio as I think that sometimes Largo is a bit too naive, and Nerio is a bit too cynical. Though, we don't really know that much about the real Nerio, as most of our footage is of Nerio's double under the influence of the Commission.

At least, since they both seem to love each other, lots of things could probably be worked out... and if not, I guess there is always Sullivan! icon_wink.gif

I wonder what the real Nerio would have said to the Romarian deal? or to various other decisions of Largo's.... I bet he would have been a good help on figuring out who all the commission members were (like Celine in Errors of Commission!)
